I recently aquired an amplifier that uses two Y-621B triodes. Its a old
Harris, military HF amp.

Problem is one of the tubes is missing. Other is unknown condition.

Seccond problem is I cannot find a datasheet anywhere on the Y-621B
tube. Eimac made it, and a call to them tells me it is discontinued.

What I know is the Y-621B is a conduction cooled Triode. The amp runs
two of them in ground grid. Its rated as a 400 Watt amp.

I've received information this tube is the same as a 8873, except for
different filament voltages. I do not know this for sure. I understand
the 8873 was in the old Heathkit 230 amp, and is also difficult to find
(but at least is not as obscure as the Y-621B.

Becasue of the compactness of the interior of this amp, switching to a
forced air tube may not be possible.. what would be even harder is a
tube that is larger.

Does anybody have any specifications for the Y-621B tube, and can anyone
confirm its similarity to the 8873 (and other 3CX400) tubes.
