Torroids are fine for 160-40 meters if you use the proper
core and wire size to handle the suds planned. They can be
mounted close to the chassis walls without changing the
inductance, thus, more room in your box. Most modern-day
amps that have 160 meters have torroids for at least 160 and
80m.
