Fwiw, I have had the MFJ4245 model 12v 40 amp power supply for over three years
and have not heard any sounds out of it rf wise. It powers my icom 756 and
Yaesu ft-7100 without so much as a blip at the factory 13.8v setting.

Took the cover off of it recently and blew out three years worth of dust
bunnies with canned compressed air and put the cove back on.

There is a fan in the back of the supply, it runs very quiet compared to the
fan on my AL-800h.

To go on for a moment, I have had three MFJ/Ameritron amps and other MFJ
products, no problems with any of their stuff at all save for me needing more
rf horsepower over the passage of time.

Good gear for the $$$ spent considering there are so few vendors catering to
the sadly decreasing ham radio market.

  Any feedback , comments experience
  on LIGHTWEIGHT travel amp -

The new MFJ ALS 600 with switching supply
looks good RF deck 12.5 lbs and switching
  supply is 10 lbs - output 500w

Is the switching supply quiet RF wise?

Is MFJ still building less than quality stuff ?

Any suggestions in UNDER 30 lbs class
for Travel AMP - again AL 811 comes
  to mind - MORE MFJ

I wish there was a two part amp with PS
separate that could be under 30 lbs and
output at least 600w on CW

  Any suggestions ?
