And why? Using a SUITABLE set of series resistors and the neon gives a good
warning if the bleeders have opened.
The series resistors need to be a potential divider (so if the neon or
something opens, the voltage at the neon holder doesn't soar), and rated for
the voltage and power.
Not as good as a something like an electrostatic voltmeter, of course - they
have the advantage that there's nothing to go open circuit. They also need to
be connected the right way round so that the zero adjustment screw is on the
ground side.
