The way you can stop them from coupling with each other is to mount the toroid
iron cores at right angles to each other. On toroids, it would be the same,
dont stack them side by side but at right angles. The windings could still
couple if stacked. In other words, turn one 90 degrees to the other when
mounting. If you have the room to mount them with an air gap of at least 1/2"
to 1" apart would make it better too.

Toroid power transformers are really hard to rewind unless you have a toroid
winder. By hand you would have to have a wooden shuttle large enough to hold
all the wire needed for a complate coil. Then you would have to strip the old
core which is pretty hard too. If I recall, the Emtron uses toroid power
transformers dont they? My guess is it would cost as much as a new one to get
one rewound because of the labor involved. An EI or C-core are way easier to
rebuild than a toroid because you can remove the whole coil off the core in one
piece.
