Jos the price of Boonton 59s fluctuate between a range of 50 to 130 US Dollars
on EBay. It looks like Carl snagged himself a steal if he picked up the last
one auctioned there. A couple of months ago I saw one put up on EBay that was
in Mint Condition. This wasn't a Standard 59, it was the complete Megacycle
Meter. Which includes 3 Oscillating heads. The standard one which every one is
familiar with plus a Low Frequency Head and a UHF Head and a Bird Wattmeter
style case. The guy wanted a pretty penny for it stating a "Buy It Now" price
of $ 250 which frightened people away. A couple of lowball bids were made but
the reserve amount was never reached. I was scanning EBay for a couple of
junkers to cannabilize parts from and couldn't justify in my mind laying out
that kind of bread seeing as I already have a working example of my own. If
you're looking for one keep your eyes peeled he may be back.
