If the stuff isn't nice and flexible, it can be useful to anneal it. Get it red 
hot, and let it cool - usually, dropped into cold water, to save time. Then 
clean it up with steel wool. If you're using tube, be careful with cold water, 
as it can shoot up the tube, coming out as flash steam, and cause injury.
