[Amps] Hi Mu, Low Mu

Sounds like names for cats.

Is there a reason for having high and low Mu versions of the same tube?

I know that in AM, for example, a 250TH is found in RF service and a 250TL will 
be used in the audio section as a modulator.

However, I've seen "TL" versions of several tubes used for RF.

Any special rhyme or reason?
