My german is a bit rusty, but I suspect the performance of the
PT-8000A is more in the line of the similarly-priced FTDX-9000 or
IC-7800 than the KWM-2A. There are several radios priced at ~$100 or
less in 1967 dollars which will outperform a KWM-2A.
The Hilberling mike looks pretty cool!
