That is why you may consider a grid-driven AB1 tetrode for the final or maybe
for the driver, so that you can get lots of gain in one stage or two if you
insist that the output be grounded grid.

How hard would it be to build a multi-stage amp using sweep tubes? This would
need four tuned circuits including the input tune. It would have a pre-driver,
driver, and final set of tubes (1 driving 3 driving 8). Would this be a lot
harder to design and build than using a couple of 3-500Z's or 4CX800's, etc
even if it's a monoband? From looking at a project on the net, I'm just
wondering on this.
