I have  used the GS-35B a couple of times, the tube is rugged and cheap and
will do  FLL with 100 watts drive.  However, I have found it to be no match
for  the 8877 at the same drive levels.  Lou 


Peter,  Before I did my homework on the GS-35B I believed the saying  that it 
was "the poor man's 8877"  I ran right out and grabbed 3 of them  thinking 
they would perform like an 8877.  Perhaps it will with 140 watts  of drive, but 
not with 100 or less.  Since I only have 100 watts drive the  8877 really 
makes some serious power!  Big difference in price, but big  difference in 
performance as far as I am concerned.   Lou
