Hi Björn.
I cannot speak for the Ps used with the ALS-600, but I have a MFJ-4245 13v
45 a ps switching supply that is over 6 years old and has yet to give me a
minutes grief. I use it to run my P-3, Kenwood 742 along with my bearcat
scanner and whatever else needs a stable 12 v source in the shack.
Just me experience with this one so far.
73's,
Gary...wa6fgi

I didn't know about the "S" version of the ALS-600 until reading about it on
this reflector. I am looking for an auto band switching amp, so this is good
news to me. Especially since this amp is lower cost that my other options.

I found some information on the Ameritron website, and it looks like a good
alternative to THP or Expert at half the price. The trade off is lower power
and less "styling".

The text mentions a switching power supply. Has anyone worked the ALS-600 on
lower bands? Is the PS quiet? The image on the Ameritron website show only
the power supply, has anyone seen the real thing?
