I think this tube has a slightly different filament voltage?  5.5v versus 5v?  
I seem to remember this from somewhere in my fading memory (too much RF??).  I 
could be wrong.

Clearly it works anyway.  I do have that specific data sheet somewhere in the 
libray (somewhere!!!!!) if you (or anyone else) want a copy.

I found a good source for Eimac 3CPX1500A7/8877 tubes from Harbach
Electronics.

This is the pulse version of the tube and it is .1 inch taller than the
standard 8877.

These are pulls, he warrantees them for 30 days and I paid just
over $300 shipped.

The one I have used for the last few months works just fine in
my AL-1500. It has a 2005 date code.
