I have a newly built SB-221. I need to test that it actually works, and
test for construction problems etc. I have it wired for 240 volts and was
thinking of bringing it up slowly on a 120v Auto Transformer in stages as
the components including capacitors are all original except for components
supplied in recommended modifications. Should I do this without the tubes
installed which are also 30 years?

Does anyone see anything wrong having the amp wired for 240v and bringing it
up from 50v to 120v, and if no bangs or flashes then putting 240v to it?

73, de Mike K6BR
