Dominant harmonic is fourth, not second.
"Fundamental" of the ripple is second.
Sorry about that.

Just looked at an LTspice model of a guy's
supply and (choke-input, one L and one C)
ripple was very close to sinusoidal, with the
major component at 120 Hz (twice line 
frequency) and that dominant harmonic at 
240 Hz was down 27 dB from the 120 Hz
component.
