You don't have to. There are AC power controllers with an Ethernet jack on
them, available COTS. We use them at the dayjob. The most you might have to
do is either drive a suitable contactor with one to power-up the whole amp,
or modify the amp to have a separate AC feed for the filament and drive
_that_ with the Net-connected controller, leaving HV control for hands-on
operation, which I think would be the more prudent course.

But if you want to throw a TCP/IP stack into the mix, be my guest, and
please publish.
