Ive mentioned the modified 8874 on here several times since the 90's and 
even posted a photo of mine elsewhere many years ago. Its still going strong 
in my 6M portable amp that I converted around 1986 where I picked up the amp 
as well as an 8874 at the Dayton Hamfest.
