This doesn't work with my IC-706MKII or IC-706MKIIG.  Apparently the radio 
doesn't look at external ALC until you key the radio.  Then it takes time 
for it to look at the external ALC and then set the output power 
accordingly.  I still get the overshoot glitch.  A full 140 watts at any 
power setting on the IC-706MKII, and about a 10-watt overshoot over set 
power on the IC-706MKIIG (same as before on both rigs without external ALC 
setting).
