It depends upon the tube Gary, some are known to degrade (outgas) and others arent. A few have poor air seals and turn to paperweights.

If you have the means to regetter before applying full HV or RF then do it. Most of the indirectly heated types just require a day or so of filament voltage only.

Otherwise pull a Dirty Harry.

Is there any benefit to taking a ceramic tube on the shelf and
running it every so often and then returning it to the shelf to
archive it for a backup when needed? Or os it just as well to let it
sit until needed?
