The manufacturers of commercial equipment will remove it with abrasive action.
Usually all sheet metal panels can be orbital sanded lightly to not only remove
this but also the various tics and surface defects that they might pick up in
handling. This then goes into Alodine or Anodize process before painting or
not. Good off is a good idea I think.
