2550w output with an L4B power supply is surprising. Makes one wonder if
that is actual power being generated or perhaps a bad rf load that lets the
power reading equal forward plus reflected power.

Maybe the other tube is not soft after all.

Gentlemen

I took a nice HB amp in that uses a pair of 3cx1200a7,s.

along with the amp came 3 3cx1200d7,s

My question is what are the SOFT tubes worth?

The pair of A7,s will produce 1200w out,with a drake L4hv supply.

1 of the D7,s will show 1400 out the other 2 550w

All the tubes work, they don't blow any thing up just SOFT!

your thoughts?
