</div>Maybe you didn't zap it.  Remove everything off the 2 terminals of the 
meter so the meter is by itslef, check it with an ohm meter and see if the 
meter responds.  If it does the meter should still be good.  They check the 
diodes across it.  Separate them and check each one, one might be shorted.  
Check for opens in any of the 1 meg meter series resistors in the HV string.  
Report back with findings.

I have apparently zapped my clipperton L meter by shorting the high voltage. Is 
 there any option for a replacement?
