The 1N5408 is pretty much the universal choice for the past 30+ years.

Due to a re-assembly error/oversight (Diode too close to neighboring wire,
lesson re-learned) a diode and cap were damaged. I need to replace both.
The question is do I keep with the 1N5062 diode or go with something more
modern and replace them all?
