HF Amplifiers and Amplifier Related Items/Parts For Sale:

Heath SB-1000 HF Amp, Kenwood TL-922 HF Amp, SB-614 Monitor
Scope, Parts for Amp Supply LK-500 Z A, Parts for SB-220/221,
and more

Heath SB-1000 HF Linear Amplifier (Heath's version of AL-80 A):

The SB-1000 uses a single 3-500 to produce up to 1000 watts
output on the 160 thru 10 meter HF bands. I questioned Heath's
claim of 1000 watts out with a single 3-500, but depending on
band, this one does actually produce 1000 watts out. To be a bit
more conservative, 50 W drive typically gives about 750 W out.
This is using 120 V AC.

This particular amp has had a glitch resistor added, along with
some protective diodes. It looks like the filter caps may have
been replaced by a previous owner. In any case, they seem to be
in good condition. The 3-500 is an Eimac that is in great shape.

Cosmetically, this unit looks extremely nice. I do not find any
scratches or defects. This is a terrific HF amp.

Paper work is included for $750. Pickup near Ocala FL is preferred,
although shipping is possible.

Kenwood TL-922 A, HF Linear Amplifier:

The Kenwood TL-922A HF linear amp is designed to provide close
to maximum legal power, utilizing two 3-500Z high performance
transmitting tubes. The amp features two meters for maximum
operating convenience. Power is 2000W PEP SSB, 1000W DC CW/
RTTY input. Drive power is about 80.

For all practical purposes, the TL-922 A is similar to the SB-220/
221, but with improvements added, since it was designed after
the Heath amps. It also includes 160 meters. It has larger
transformers, and heavier duty tank circuit.

This one has had the filter capacitors replaced, the Harbach
"Soft Key" added, along with a glitch resistor, and various
protective diodes. All bulbs have been replaced.

The Eimac 3-500's produce from 1300 watts to over 1500 watts
into a dummy load, depending on band. Power output was measured
with an LP-100 A wattmeter, calibrated traceable to NBS.

Electrically, this amp is a 10, and cosmetically it is a 9.9.
It is an exceptionally nice amp, both electrically and cosmetically.

Power requirement is 120V AC at 28A or 240V AC at 14A.

Paper work is included for $1250. Pickup near Ocala, FL,
is definitely best.

Linear Amp Switching Cable for Kenwood Rigs:

This cable goes from a Kenwood transceiver to a linear
amplifier to switch the amp from transmit to receive.

One end has a DIN connector, as is used with most Kenwood
rigs. The other end has an RCA phono plug, as used by most
linear amplifiers.

Before using this cable, please check the switching
capabilities of your transceiver, and the requirements
of your amplifier.

This cable is for switching the relay. $15

Cable as above, but also includes the connection for ALC in
addition to the amplifier relay keying. $20

Heath SB-614 Monitor Scope:

This unit matches the SB line of Heath equipment, and is
made to monitor your transmitted signal. It uses a 3 inch
CRT.

Heath has designed at least three different monitor scopes.
This is the latest model, and is all solid state, except for the
CRT.

I have used it to monitor transmit signals, and it works great.
Cosmetically, it looks great as well. The graticule is sharp and
nice. No scratches or defects that I can find. Pristine!

With paper work for $150.

Amp Supply LK-500ZA HF Amplifier Parts:

The LK-500 ZA uses a pair of 3-500 tubes, to produce close to
legal limit power. Parts from one are being sold. Most of these
parts could be used on other amps using a pair of 3-500 tubes.

High Voltage Power Transformer
This is the good Peter Dahl transformer. After the full wave bridge
rectifiers, it produces about 3100 volts with currents towards an
amp. This is a very heavy duty transformer! $275

Filament / Control transformer
Provides 5+ volts at 30 amps for the 3-500 filaments, plus 18 V to
be used in control circuitry. $50

Input matching board
This amp has a separate board to be used to match the rig to the
amp. It covers 160 thru 10 meters, and is switched by relays. $100

Other parts are available. Please e-mail or call for more info.
Pickup near Ocala FL would be preferred for the heavy parts.
Shipping is not included in the above prices.

Heath SB-220 / SB-221 parts:

Heath SB-221 logo
This is the logo with the Heath name and SB-221, that goes
in the upper left of the front panel. It looks perfect.
No scratches or defects. $15

Heath SB-220 original metering and rectifier PC board
This is the original board from an SB-220 HF amp that was replaced
with one of the Harbach boards. Almost all of the resistors on this
board drift over time, and result in inaccurate meter readings. This
board has had ALL of the metering resistors replaced with 1% or 2%
precision resistors. The 4.7 Meg resistors in the high voltage
measuring section have been replaced with resistors rated to take the
high voltage, as well as being more precision. This board includes
the 10 watt zener diode. This effectively makes the board very
similar to the Harbach board, which they sell for $38. Buy this
board for only $25.

Original metering rectifier board, as above, but does NOT have the
10 watt zener diode included. $20

Original 10 watt 5.1 volt zener diode for SB-220. $10

SB-220 grid choke (1 mh, Part # 45-4, RFC 4 and 5)
These often go up in smoke when there is a tube problem.
These are fine, with no problems. $5 each

Knobs for SB series:
Dark green knobs with aluminum skirt, 1 1/8 inch in diameter.
These are the medium size knobs used in all of the SB series of
transceivers, receivers, transmitters and accessories.
Two available at $5 each.

I also have many other accessories available such as many
different types of microphones, HTs, VHF and UHF rigs, HF
and VHF/UHF antennas, connectors, miscellaneous accessories,
etc.
Just too many to list here. Please e-mail your requests.

Prices do not include shipping from Florida.
On the heavy items, pickup near Ocala FL is much preferred.

Thanks.
