[Amps] Switching out a Henry choke

A fellow told me if I want to get more voltage on my 3-500z tubes that I
should rig up a relay

Which will short out (remove ) the choke from the power supply ckt..

There should be a couple of minute delay for the caps to charge.

 

Is this something that is being done ??

Is anyone doing this ??
