“ When I was in electronics class the teacher called the screen grid in a tetrode an accelerator. With that not doing any accelerating I don't think it would work very well.” Not as popular now, but back in the 1960s/1970s a grounded-grid 4-1000 was the hot setup. Worked just fine. There were so many available as broadcast pulls they were cheap.
