That is the year I bought a 64 GTO convertible and still had a 57 Chevy convertible as a beater.

In 67 I started a series of 63 Impalas when I sold the GTO as the DP for a house in NH, we came from MA. Bought the new wife a 63 SS convertible with the base 327 and a Powerslide....what a slug but we did lots of way back roads testing the rear seat. Took as far as Colorado when I moved to IL in 70, never a problem. Bought a 68 Camaro convertible that year as I made enough $$ t(sold the 57 and a couple of others) to afford a good DP. The Impala and Camaro remained in IL and we came back to NH in 73 in a 67 Ford Country Squire wagon with a 390 and carrying the rug rat, and a 63 409 wagon towing a 2 axle trailer I built with a customized 51 Ford Victoria on top. Wound up with 9 63's and 8 more 57's between 67 and around 86. Buy, fix, and sell and the last was a 63 SS HT with a very built 327, 4 sp, Posi, an easy 360 HP, was a 283 Powerslide.

Sorry about the thread drift...lots of nice memories.

Carl
