I have high hopes for the new ALPHA as well and hope the ham community will
still be embracing tube technology. I know I will.
If anyone has seen the price of an Ameritron AL1500 lately you'll understand
the challenge ALPHA will have with offering an amp with 3cx1500 tubes (9500) or
4cx1000 tubes (8410).
I recently purchased new 8877 tubes for my ALPHA in anticipation of supplies
drying up even more so than they have already. It was an expensive endeavor.
All in all its great news for any of us using an alpha amp...old or new.
Kudos to ALPHA for putting so much sweat into moving to a new facility and
keeping the Ten Tec name alive as well. Made in USA so lets support them in
any way we can.
Long live the king of the amps!
