Yes EPD is a good outfit, I agree. Ten Tec made their own iron to save money because they were cheap. They had a guy on the payroll who did nothing but make their transformers but then he quit and went back to where he came from (Canada?) not sure and I don't know what they did after that. I heard they originally used Dahl iron but quit him because he was too expensive. In those days I wanted the replacement to fit in the box and I sent it to them and had the Dahl transformer shipped to Sevierville. I think I paid Dahl 4 or 5 hundred dollars. The Ten Tec service guy actually argued with me. They didn't want to put in the Dahl transformer. He insisted there's was okay. After two crap outs I wasn't a believer. I had to order them to use the Dahl transformer. Nowadays I don't care if it fits or not. I'll put anything that works outside in a box and run wire to and from the cabinet to it like with other amps such as the L4B. 73 Rob K5UJ _______________________________________________ Amps mailing list Amps@contesting.com http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/amps |
