Subject: [Amps] 3CX-6000A7 Socket

<Any know where to source a socket for a 3CX-6000A7?

<Datasheet at
<https://www.cpii.com/docs/datasheets/76/3CX6000A7%20-%20YU-148.pdf does
<not specify? a pert number, and RF Parts can no longer source them

<Would prefer not to use collets

## you are correct. RF parts no longer sells either of their 2 x versions
of the 3000 / 6000 socket. Charlie Asamoto has retired (he owned ASI).
Charlie built all the sockets for RF parts...and also for the Henry Radio
8K-ultra.

## There is no other maker of 3000/6000 sockets. Scott's socket was a one
off from a different maker, I had never seen his version before. Both are
unobtainium.

## Ok, here's plan 'B''. Floyd at Eagle made, makes custom machined
collets for the
3000/6000A7. $175.00 for all 3 x pieces, Grid ring..and also the
inner / outer collet for the cathode. Floyd now has a 5000 sq foot machine
shop, and can make damned near anything you want.

## His collet / grid ring assy's work good, and will easily handle 100
amps.

## at this point, you don't have a lot of options. At least with Floyds
setup, there is no finger stock used anywhere.
