Raw DC from a 3 phase rectifier ( 6 x legs used) is just 5.2%
ripple....when using 60 hz.
Raw DC from a (60hz) single phase rectifier (FWB/ FWCT / FWD) is 67%

That's a huge advantage in favour of 3 phase power. 92% of the filtering
has already been done for you. Very little filtering required to get from
5.2%.....down to say 1 - 3%.

Ripple freq is 2F with single phase (100/120 hz)
Ripple freq is 6F with 3 phase (300 / 360 hz)
