Here's the simplest example I could come up with --
Case 1. 72 ohm matched system, one feedline.
100 watts is delivered to the line, which has losses that we will
say are equivalent to 10 ohms of resistance. At the other end, the
load is 72 ohms. The power delivered to the load is 100 x 72/(72 + 10)
= 87.8 watts.
Case 2. Parallel 72 ohm lines into a 36 ohm load.
100 watts is delivered to the pair of lines, which now are equivalent
to 5 ohms of resistance. At the other end, the load is 36 ohms.
The power delivered to the load is 100 x 36/(36 + 5) = 87.8 watts.
