I've used the MFJ and the AEA. The MFJ has the advantage of being very easy
to use, with a simple user interface. It is also much less expensive than
the AEA. However, it has one major drawback (like virtually all MFJ
products), namely poor build quality. My MFJ-259B has failed twice so I've
given up on it. I know other users who have also experienced failures. I
now use the AEA which has much better build quality, although its user
interface is rather nonintuitive. The other advantages of the AEA are a
graphical display for frequency-sweep measurements and, even better yet, a
computer interface. AEA sells a software package which allows you to
download data and generate automated plots of SWR, resistance, reactance,
etc. vs. frequency on your PC. I find the plotting capability to be
extremely useful.

just wondering if anyone has any experience with Autek instruments; they
don't seem to offer anything more than those of AEA and cost 50% less
