Hi,

Here is kind of similar to initial request:

GEMAS (GPS-based Electromagnetic Acquisition System)

Antenna with spectrum analyzer mounted on vehicle and connected to GPS
receiver. As result you have GPS-based map with observed fields
densities and so on stored in database. Based on this one can estimate
best/worst places etc. I am not sure that you can easily adopt it for
your needs, but this just might be interesting for you as some concept.
