try one of small loop designs, for example a FLAG (K6SE Design) or a K9AY 
Antenna.

I have one of those for 80m and it works quite well. But make sure, to put it 
not too close to your TX antenna because of possible interaction.

I look for some antenna diagram for RX in 160mtrs.  
Only Reception with good gain and low noise  
  
Now with my dipole I have but high level of noise that with my   
old L, hihihihihi.
