This idea may result in a fun contest to operate, but the geographically
advantaged would still enjoy better propagation over a longer period of time
into the target areas. The scores might be closer together, but the ranking
would be the same from top to bottom even without band-edge hogging
gographically advantaged types calling CQ.

It's terrible!
Things are much worse than I thought!
To wit:
There's a guy in Looziana who is REAL loud! Lets get him!
Some people use more than one radio, which
takes alot of effort to learn!
A chap in the Northwest had the AUDACITY to
appear in an advertisement! A Funny one at that!
There are people who actually PAY other people
to do things that they themselves may not be good at,
or have little time for!
West coasters have better openings to Japan!
They can also work tons of East coasters via F2!
New Englanders have better openings to Europe!
There are actually people who have "70 foot and
up towers!" who seem to have little compassion,
during the battle, for those who do not!
There are people who win more than other people,
for some mysterious reason, flying in the face of the
"Fairness in contesting concept"!
I wanted to answer someone and actually was forced to look
up the E-Mail address on the users list!
I am forced to work everyone who counts for score, not
just the good ops!
There are people who have very good signals (Who are LOUD!)
who actually monopolize a frequency by calling CQ for long
periods of time, sucking in unsuspecting hams the world
over into contributing to their score at the expense of
many well meaning but ill equipped folks who deserve a
chance to have a few DX QSOs, even if their level of
preparation and station performance is marginal at best.
Any NITWIT can call CQ and answer calls from weak stations
in QRM and not worry about getting the calls right or
copying the weak people at a better rate than the next guy.
These NITWITS ruin it for those of us who WISH for the
QSO's! These serious BIG GUY contesters, who have actually
built competitive stations, and learned the techniques in
order to actually compete, are always in the way!
I keep running into people from all over who are louder
than me, for one reason or another, into all sorts of
places at various times of the day! Someday I'll make
them all pay!
.. OH..(Whimper).. Forgive Me (Sniff).. I can't go on....

One way to reduce the amount of CQing in a manner that does not
totally change the rules is to include the Run/Mult aspect of the
QSO in the score. Stations calling CQ get one point per QSO; stations
answering the CQ get 2 or 3 points per QSO. This would automatically
reduce CQing, although not completely. Computer logging can deal with
the scoring, and also help to tell the operator if he/she should be
Running or S&Ping. Computer checking could also verify point
credit taken. What Say?
