Well...the "Hiram Percy Maxim 125th Birthday Memorial Celebration" taking
place this weekend sure ain't no CD Party -- but don't dismiss it out of
hand; familiar calls (and always-a-treat-to-work ops) like K1KI, K1TN,
K2SX, K4VX (the loudest signal on 80 in FL at 0100Z!), K6LL, N6BV, W6ISQ,
W6RGG, K7SS, and W0CP certainly make it an interesting activity (plus, on
the other side, K3WW and KR0Y have been noted in the pileups).
If you're bored this weekend...or it starts to rain...or you just want to
play radio for a little while, give the HPM 125th BMC a try. Runs through
next weekend; rules on page 46 of August QST. Certificate for 25 Q's, if
you care. (And new stations showing on a band quickly generate pileups but
are usually tragically unskilled in handling same -- a neat preview of SS!)
