1. Cut second keyways 180 deg from the first, which doubles the 
amount of metal to metal contact surface.
2. If the keys are half moon, remachine for straight key stock, and
make them as long as possible
3. Have the keystock ground to fit as tightly as possible to the
mating keyways...Make sure the opposing keyways are the same
size, and are parallel...Sloppy fit will not work...Initial slop is the
primary  step in the chain of failure...
3A.  Drill and tap for grade 5 socket set screws over each key...Preferably
two of them, 1/3 each from center...
4. Wind balance your antennas to reduce the amplitude of the 
torque forces from working in the wind, which is the main source of
wear...You may need a dummy boom extension and element..
5. Be sure the rotator brake DELAY is working properly...
6.  Emelio says, you should sacrifice a goat and to tie two eagle feathers at
the top of the antenna stack...If you do this , you can
skip steps 1 through 5...
