We too have had trouble with the Rangers here in NJ.

We have a mountiantop location for Field Day and there is a fire lookout
tower there that is about 65' tall. Perfect antanna support. We strapped my
2 el KLM 40 on it last year and it worked great. The rangers blew a gasket
when they saw it on sunday morning!

This year we got a permit with wording that include permission to use the
tower as an antenna support so we won't have to rip everything down with them
watching at 9am sunday morning.

  1. He didn't do it.

  2. If he did he probably would have had a lower score. I used to
think that having a 2x1 call would be an advantage in WPX but the
more I see of the results I now think it's a disadvantage. If you
have a good 2x1 call, _everyone_ in the US will call you and
you'll have a large number of zero point/no mult QSO's in your
log. The more competitive you are the worse this problem will be.
     Hell, I'm a weak K3 and 5% of my QSO's were 0/0's. I'd like to
know how many of Tyler's (KF3P) QSO's were 0/0's compared to
         Randy's.

  It's still my favorite contest.

With the permission of the call owner anyone can use any call
from any location. (at least in the U.S.A... ) [KY1H]

So does this mean that when I hear a rare DX station on I can work
it several times using the calls of any of my friends who have told
me that they need to work this country and have given me permission
to work it for them?

I realize that this may not be allowed under the DXCC rules, but not
all DXers send their cards to ARRL. I also realize that the above
happens now, but I never thought it was ethical.

Heck, I should be at #1 Honor Roll pretty soon then!
