I think it is because Klein's home office was and still is in Chicago.

I will be departing on a business trip to Jakarta on October 16. I will be in
Jakarta for
approximately 3-4 weeks, and then plan on taking a one week vacation on
Christmas
Island.
For Jakarta: I will attempt to operate as YB0ASI (at AA4U's station) during
CQWW
SSB, but not sure if I will or for how long. Please QSL to YB0ASI/AA4U.
For Christmas Island: I have in hand a license with the call VK9XRS, but at
this
point have not made any lodging arrangements. I know of the existence of The
Christmas Island Resort , but would like accommodations less pricey and at a
more
desireable amateur radio location. March 1994 CQ magazine makes mention of the
VQ3, but heard a rumor it might be a part of the resort. If anyone has any
knowledge of accommodations on the island, please email me directly. If the
date is
October 16 or later, don't worry since my brother, WR3Z, will be taking care of
any
email I receive in my absence. When I do get on the air, I will attempt to
operate
160-10M, concentrating on cw. If the timing works out, I may even be on during
CQWW CW, but don't know at this point. QSL for this operation via ND3A.

When I started contesting (so long ago I can't remember when) my main
motivation for submitting my results was to see my call published in the
national magazine. I believe the removal of contest rules and results in QST
would result in a drastic reduction in submitted logs, which is how they
gauge the success of the event. I hope they don't do it.
