CONDX UFB on all bands!
Most of job done on 80 and 15, as 40 & 20 m input coils in amplifier
broke in Saturday evening. Anyway continued with contest, not for results
but for lot of fun!

Not much to say about this one. I simly did not do a good
enough job operating! Bad band choices and not being in
the right place at the right time will not produce a good
score. Sleeping 15 hours did not help my 80 meter score
and I did not spend nearly enough time on 20 ( my best band)
to take advantage of the propogation. The celestial
convention against 10 meter signals arriving in the Ithaca
area continues (verified by another local contester N2AU) as
I did not hear a signal on 10 on Sat. at all. In fact, I
checked 10 meters, every 15 minutes to be sure I did not
miss anything. On Sunday, I finally found a signal and
worked 6 ea. EA8 stations, absolutely nothing else --- talk
about selective illumination. Finally heard and worked the
normal group of South American stations later in the
afternoon.
On Friday daytime and on Friday night my hilltop was blessed
with winds (over 60 mph continuous and much higher gusts)
and thunder storms that made me very nervous and sure made
turnig the antennas an adventure. The static on 160 and 80
was terrible, but the EWEs did their job nicely. My last
minute decision to put up the half sloper on Europe on 160
did nothing but destructively interact with the rotating
dipole on 80. Sure says something about last minute
decisons and not thinking things through.
Sure hope I find a dependable way to connect to the spotting
cluster as this single op stuff is not my idea of fun
anymore. Looking back at the weekend, I sure did have fun
and the highlight was certainly found on 15 meters when I
asked the drone of Eu stations to please QRX. Out of the
noise came an ET3, and a S79. What a pleasent surprise.

Subject: Raising Rohn 45 Tower

Last week I witnessed the installation of a 100ft. self supporting
tower at WX0B's place. Very neat, very clean, very quick. Since I
recently got city approval to put up a 125 ft. Rohn 45 tower I started
pondering if I could do the same thing; completely assemble it on the
ground horizontally then hoist it into position with a crane. I
couldn't find anything in the Rohn catalog about crane installation of
their towers. Has anyone ever tried this? If so, do you have any tips
for a successful installation? Thanks.

First let me say thank you to everyone for letting me do this. Now
for some comments which should help in the future.
Please send me your class completely. Try to send it like it is on
this sheet. If there are any breakdowns I missed please correct me.
You will notice in the single band that there is un/a beside a call.
This of course means Unassisted and Assisted. I am not sure this is
a true class or not but I put it that way so people will know. Also
I will only put HP or LP beside call and not make two classes. Trying
to cutdown on bandwidth.
Finally I know some of the scores do not look right. I will and repeat
will only put down what you send. I will not change anything unless
told to by you. Please do not flame me for any mistakes except for
typos. If scores are wrong email the call. Feel free to send me mail
and I will correct anything about your score or class.
This is the first rough draft of this and I am trying my best to make
it work for you. Any suggestions to improve it will be appreciated.
