I am PY2NY, operator of PW2N, special call for contests
in BRAZIL.
CQ WW CW Contest is near, and I'll operate on all
bands, LOW Power Class.
I'd like to have attention from people in North America
and Europe, asking for a little chance from you. Try
to put your antennas into our direction, and try to
listen us in South America, or me, in Brazil. The
propagation will be our common enemy!!!
PW2N will operate with CT soft, Kenwood TS140S and
antennas: 2 element Quad 10-15-20 Meters (13 m high) ;
inverted Vees 40-80 meters (10 m high); windom for 160
meters (also 10 m high only!!!!).
Listening my signals during the Contest, please put
me in your local Packet Cluster, I will try to break
my QSO number records (1850)...

Hi All,
I guess I think guest ops are ok. I have had many over the
years in various multi efforts and of course W0UA in many single op
efforts. It does not indicate a lack of motivation on my part. In
fact it usually means a brief respite in my never ending task of
trying to hold my station together. My family gets a chance to see
me on these weekends. It also allows me a chance to keep the station
on the air and justify the effort and "megabucks".
On the topic of megabucks, I'd gladly trade my station to anyone
who will bring me even one measily megabuck in trade. I was thinking
about the lack of these dead presidents when I had to un-tape no less
than 5 splices in my 15 meter rotator run to find why it wouldn't
indicate. Of course, each had different color and size wires. I
have scrounged and pieced together junk for years to make this
station and in spite of my lack of motivation, I still do my climbing,
welding, equipment repair and a fair amount of operating.
It is easy to complain about the guys who are really motivated
but hard to challenge them. For example N2IC has plugged away for 10
years and now can take out K0RF's station on a given weekend. Unless
Steve is hiding something from me, I don't think megabucks had much
to do with it.

Stands to reason- the guys that have been around for a while have had
time to build up big stations, and the younger guys (who don't have the
money) have the energy and enthuisiam to run them. That would be why we
hear so few checks in the 90's in SS.

I wasn't suggesting this as a solution for dealing with JA
cards......although it has been done by a few.
The original question was: are there any ideas that could help with the
deluge of cards coming to DX stations, creating so much of a chore as to get
them to not want ot operate in contests.
Well this idea may just work for THEM. How would you feel if YOU got your
card back from a BY with such a stamp on it? Thats the real question.
I am not advocating the rubber stamp, merely mentioning it as something I
have seen.
