According to JGellerRVZ@aol.com who sent the enclosed, This is apparently
what they (the ARRL) want you to do to play in ARRL contests in the future
-- great if you are a big guns contester (I did have the rules that were
printed in QST which are quire different from the REAL rules, I read them
they clearly say:
"You're limited to only 24 out of the 30 hours of operating time (on each
mode). This leaves six hours of 'off time' to be scheduled for your own
preference. You can take all six hours at once or take an hour (or part
of an hour) at a time."
P.S. Mr. Geller: try taming your language and attitude. I don't know
you but I now do not want to.

PPS: I actually did what they said to do in QST which is"Sweepstakes
rules are available via Internet (send your request to
info@arrl.org)..." It took several days, much communication back and
forth, etc. before about 5 guys at the ARRL all sent me the information
personnally, without the use of the "automated" server. The point is,
the system doesn't work, I don't want to see any announcement of the
contest printed in QST if it contains incorrect information, and if they
are going to print an announcement that takes a full page and a quarter,
you would expect that they could put accurate rules in at least about 4
column inches of that announcement. It is not a lot to ask, despite your
rude response. Alternatively, print it all in NCJ and I will desubscribe
to QST. '73.

As usual, 75 meters was the place to be on the east coast, but it was brutal
with generally less than 1 kc between stations. Had some local noise that
turned out to be a defective "touch" lamp...S9 right on my run freq the
first night! But the rates were tremendous for everyone I talked to around
here. 40M was in very good shape, but as usual, the EU broadcast noise was
also in very good shape! It was extremely crowded on Sunday AM and rates
were not very good here. In fact, my worst rates occured Sunday morning...
just couldnt get anything going anywhere, which was a surprise. 20M was
the usual central/west coast band, however, I did find small windows here
and there with very good rates for being on the east coast. KE3Q and I
duked it out...when we worked each other, he gave me 505 and I had 502 I
think...at the end he had 1892 to my 1897. It doesnt get much closer! hi hi
I had no equipment problems at all...the updated Alpha 87's are performing
solidly as is the Stackmatch box.

We have lost a friend, a Contester, a human .....
Winner on over all Contest in the last 30 years, the only
one in Italy to setup a competitive Multi-Multi station
with great results. He was present in any Contest Activity,
we have learned from him the low band technique, the 40m
opening, the ability to work togheter in team .....
Renzo we will not listen your voice, but we will remember
you for the rest of our life ....

The 6E2T Contesters (ARRL DX CW M/2 World Champs) have a similar set up,
but we must use 6 inch diameter flexible drainage pipe secured with high
quality duct tape, and a 55 gallon drum on the receiving end. :>)
