Based on my experience recently operating the ARRL DX (CW) contest
from V3, I agree with this completely. It doesn't add much extra
time to ID each QSO & saves a lot of noise on the frequency. We
were able to maintain rates as high as 200/hr doing this, operating
from a field-day type station with simple antennas and low power!

Hi,
I thought that we already had a non-contesting band above 14.300 and is
there not already=20
a /mm net on one of those higher frequencies so the problem is solved.
Well atleast I thought we did but then I might be way of ?? Maybe I need to
read up on the=20
rules again??=20
Otherwise we could take 5 Kc out of every 10 and make it a non-contest=
band??

Here is the best single tower/simple tower antenna setup that can be
errrrected:
HyGain or other 70ft crank up (second choice, 70 ft guyed).
TH-7 just above the tower top.
40-2CD 12 feet (NOT 10ft) above TH-7.
75m and 160m 45degree angle slopers off the point just under TH-7.
If you compete against others who do not pad their logs, and if you are a
great operator, you will win from time to time against any other antenna
set-up in comparable geographic location.
Been there, done that, made up some shirts and wore them.

Contest free zones can easily be found. 10, 18, 24 MHZ. !
If anyone starts in on this contest free zone crap tell them what
frequencies are available.
Flame suit not needed. I can use the heat in RI, 2-4 inches of
