A little over a week before Dayton we received the Plaque for the winning CW
Multi-Single (as WC4E) from the 1994 contest's running. Unfortunately the
engraver had screwed up and there was a typo (W1CW's call was broken!)

I dropped a note to Steve Bolia and Steve more than went out of his way to
get a new plate engraved, he had it with him at the Hamvention a few days
later.

I know there has been a lot of negative feedback from the crowd....but I
would like to thank N8BJQ for fixing this QFU in a very prompt manor.

For K1ZX and VE6SH:

K1ZX mentioned the old "Wheelbarrow Party"
for putting in a base. I always notice
K1ZX because I first met him in Boston
when he was about 15 years old, when there was
no K1AR or K1DG, and now I hear that he is a
grandfather, and the thought of this scares
the living daylights out of me. (Prints of that
meeting are cheap, negatives are 10,000 bucks)

There ain't much around here, 4 el 20M at 90 feet.
When my kids dug that hole back in '80 or so we
rented a couple of motorized wheelbarrows to pour
the concrete. They were powered by gasoline motors
and controlled by handlebar throttles and brakes
similar to motorcycle controls. It was K2SS's
idea, as I had never heard of them. N2CWA, K2SS
and myself wheeled the stuff back from the road
with these motorized barrows, and they were superb.
This is the only way to do this, but I have never
heard of these things being used since we did it.

The beer and stuff did follow the installation.

It was a memorable time.

K1ZX still scares the hell out of me!

I hate to ruin the lynching, but I have received my certificates for
the 1994 and 1995 WPX SSB contests. They both showed up exactly one year
after each contest. (#2 15M single band, #2 20M single band)
