Fellow contesters,
Maybe I overlooked something new in the rules that say that 'dupes'
(aarggh) are some sort of multiplier.
I did 40M-SB, and 5.7% are dupes! (The 'dupes' calling me, that is). I
thought that just-work-and-log-'em is better than going into
discussions as to whether or not Q'ed B4, but this is the result. And
not just casual operators just looking for some nice DX; quite a few
regular (so-called Big-Guns) appear several times in my log.
Calling CQ as much as you can, with as little listening as possible,
is another source for multipliers I came to notice.

Good morning Jack,
Yes I had a phone call from Jacky ex-F2CW last year asking for access
to a contest station. As my station was rented out last year, I
suggested he contact the Auckland Branch of NZART, which has a club
station with the usual gear (TS440, triband yagi and dipoles).
Jacky did join the Radio Club, and gave his details as:
Jacky Calvo, callsign Zl1WW,
175 Grey Street
Onehunga, Auckland 1006,
New Zealand
Perhaps you could drop him a card, and see if that address is
still good.
I have not not met him personally, but we could sure use his
CW skills!

Hi.
I observed bands during ARRL CW contest on Sunday. Propagation was really
bad.
14 Mhz Afternoon:
the best signals:
1st class - KC1XX Matt is doing ufb...2-3 S-Units stronger than the others
so called big guns!
2nd class - W1VE (who's that guy...damned vanity calls!) 1-2 S-Units stronger
than 3rd class!
3rd class - others (normal "big guns"), the first ones heard "out of coast"
were W0AIH and NI8L.
14 MHz Evening:
NI8L, K3LR and W3LPL with big signals around 2100 UTC. No west coast heard,
only tentative N7BG.
21 MHz Evening:
three stations heard/worked
WX0B 2116 UTC solid 599!
N5RT 2138 UTC 429
AE4RO 2139 UTC 449
All stations heard/worked with a vertical and barefoot power.
