i'm a bit surprised too, al. i was also an air force operator, both
ground and airborne, and we had a list of freq's, some close to ham
bands, but i don't recall any *in* the ham bands. 4.0 something,
6.9??, and my favorite, the only one i remember, 11.228. this was,
well, at least several moons ago. (1956-1964)
