A couple of thoughts --

Take a listen to CT1BOH's best hour at P40E in the CQWWCW test (on
www.contesting.com). He sent "TU P40E" after almost every QSO, even at
250+/hour. He also used "ENNN" for his exchange, but we all understand
that the exchange in CQWW is null anyhow.

TR log allows a normal "QSL" message (intended to be something like "TU
P40E TEST" and a "Quick QSL" message on CW, which can be just "R" or "TU"
or "EE" or whatever. Even just sending "EE" lets the other station know
you've copied OK. Surely, 2 dits of "overhead" is a pretty low price to
pay for both parties' knowing that it was a complete QSO.
