Jon,

To put this all in context, this is the CQ-CONTEST reflector, not the
DX reflector.

Competent contesters especially hate "last two" style operators
because it absolutely ensures that they will need a fill before
they can log the contact and move on to the next. Also, since
contesters (and their logging programs) expect to receive information
in a specific order (callsign first) the "last two" ops disrupt the
natural operating/log-keeping rythm and slow down the rate.
Consequently the run station will try to ignore them and work
full-call responders.

Thus not only are the "last two" ops slowing down the run station,
they are also delaying an answer to their own call, and hurting their
own score in the contest.

In a contest environment there is virtually no good which can come
from answering with "last two", and all sorts of score-damaging
potential by doing it, so "last two" simply is bad operating practice.
Folks who persist in poor operating practices are commonly defined as
LIDS.
