Good to see some comments from the other side in this ARRL DX discussion.

With the exception of the VEs, the current exchange sent to us requires one
to listen as it increasingly can't be determined by your call.

The current exchange we send to you equally can't be determined from our call
& can vary from station to station operating from the same entity.

Either way, there is an element of skill involved & can be tested for, with
the exception of four-digit power levels & bringing the log checking up to
speed from whatever is currently being done.

ARRL DX is a major event, so significant change will take time sink in,
especially for us out here. Perhaps it would be better to simply add a fourth
digit to the rule & leave it at that. This way, you lot would still have cut
numbers to go on about, while the rest of us can stick to operating.

Another thing to think about: where's the skill if that DS2 doesn't understand
your request for ITU/CQ zone or whatever, so you log 44/25 or whatever & move
along? That's a step backwards in today's gung ho accuracy/checking world,
I'd reckon.

We can't guess your exchange because we can't tell where you are. Equally,
you can't guess our exchange as we all don't necessarily run or just say kW
to make things easier. ARRL isn't broken - it's a contest with its own unique
characteristics & all it needs is log checking to accomodate that.

Please don't muck with ARRL DX!

(Wondering who the CAC rep is for the vast majority of us that make ARRL
DX Qs possible)
